Resurrection

What do you do when you are living Easter in the middle of Lent?
Some days you skip chapel because it is too dry and too depressing. Some days you remember the Lent period - the time you just came through - the dry period and you give great thanks for the resurrection.
Mostly . . . you celebrate Easter. Hallelujah. I can think of no better way to celebrate Easter than to look for the resurrection. Too often I think we conceive of religious holidays or seasons as something that happened long ago, something we are simply remembering. And that is part of it.
But, the resurrection occurs everyday. Those moments when grace appears. Those times when joy overwhelms. The times when the Lord shows up and you recognize Him. Those moments when you know you are called by name. Have you seen it? You have to look for it. There are, of course the Lenten periods, when you just can’t find it, but it is there. Where have you seen it?
Most recently, I’ve seen it here:

A friend conceived of this project for a class. We celebrated Easter and the resurrection with chalk - defying the powers and principalities by coloring the arch where it does not rain, and therefore, where it is against the rules to chalk. It is now an arch full of beauty and good news. Check out these pictures - they’re pretty incredible, and they’re just some of what was put up . . .
