Faith Statement

March 23, 2006

i’m supposed to be writing my faith statement at this very minute. instead, i’m playing around on the internet, which i rarely do, trying to find some inspiration. somehow the words ‘i believe’ just sound so boring and so dull. blah. so, i’m curious. if you had to write down what you believed without using those words, what would you write?

If it were my faith statement it would sound a little something like this:

“In the 23 years that I have wandered this globe and wondered what the heck I’m doing here, there are a few things that have become clear to me…”

    And so on. :)

    i would start with:

“this is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ…”
    [g]
    ..

the closest thing to a faith statement ive had to write is:

I am supposed to be writing a faith statement as well, but I have made little progress…

I don’t really suggest this, but I would like to see someone’s statement of belief integrated somehow with their life. Like: this is how I spend my time, doing x, y, and z. In this way, it is clear how I view the world, what I think is important, etc.
Because so often those statements of faith may be what someone believes on some purely theoretical level, but when it comes right down to it, do they actually believe it with their actions? Not so much. Anyway, just my rambling thoughts.
