Even Better

It’s confirmed. I have an ear infection. And, even better, I have two. One in each ear. And, even better than that? Strep throat.

I’m guessing you’re thinking there’s no way to top that, but here I go . . . they gave me a shot in the butt and told me I’m allowed to go nowhere for two days. That’s right. Shot in the butt. Nowhere. I tried to tell them that tomorrow is Maundy Thursday and I work in a church, but they said nowhere. I contested that I have a paper due for class tomorrow and part of turning a paper in for this class is being in class that day to speak to it, but they just gave me a doctor’s note. A doctor’s note. Like the notes your parents wrote in elementary school. I don’t think those cut it in grad school, but oh well.

Ahh. The life of solitary confinement.

And, just to add one more insult to the whole situation. I felt fairly fine until I started taking their drugs and now I can barely get off the couch. Wrong. So wrong.
